Victory Field - Indianapolis Indians

Friday evening found us at the Triple A game of the Indianapolis Indians. Fun times - we have had basketball and baseball so far and more sport to come on Saturday . . Victory Field is in the heart of downtown!
We were heading back from the team store and ran into their mascot!

Aunt Nancy's Team!

We got good seats that afternoon - good thing we didn't wait till gametime as the game was sold out!

The Indy Zoo

We started out Friday morning at the Indianapolis Zoo. The main reason we went was for the dolphin dome (too much glass for good pics).
This sign just screamed out for me to take Matt's picture by it!
Lori and Eric were imitating the cranes.

I think Matt's legs have outgrown the train at this zoo!

Eric, Matt and Aunt Nancy in the Plains area of the zoo.

Eric petting the sharks - Nancy couldn't get up the nerve to touch the sharks!

Indy Heat

Lori and Matt are in Indianapolis for a basketball tourney (matt's team is Indy Heat) and Eric and Nancy came to join them for a few days. Matt and Eric after Matt's game.
Matt and his Coach Brandon Bradley.

The tournament didn't go as well as we would have liked so now we have two days to goof off in Indy. Tomorrow is the zoo and an Indianapolis Indians baseball game.

He goes this week and next week. Tonight they got practice helmets, pads and a jersey to work out in. Official practice begins on August 10th (Eric's birthday). This is a new adventure for Eric and we are wishing him lots of success and fun!

"Oh What a Beautiful Night . . ."

Eric and Nancy headed to the ballgame tonight and it was a beautiful 69 degree night in mid-July! Great company, Great Weather - not such a good game for the Cardinals! It was fun to see some of the All-Star "stuff" still around! You can tell from the pics that Eric started in one shirt but we quickly found a "National League" All-Star shirt that he liked!

Happy Birthday J.D.

Happy Birthday J.D. ! What could be more perfect than for a guy who loves all things baseball than to have the All-Star game fall on your birthday! (I guess having a really good ticket to the game would be nice!) We celebrated J.D.'s birthday on Sat night at Stefanina's. Tonight he will be watching the game. Wishing you an all-star birthday and a spectacular year. You are our all-star - Happy Birthday J.D.

Bridgeton Parade!

His Singers float in the Bridgeton 4th of July Parade. The kids did a great job singing and throwing candy to the crowds. The parade started a hour late due to rain but it did not dampen our spirits or the crowd!

Illini Basketball Camp

Eric and Matt were able to attend Illini basketball camp last week. They stayed in a dorm on the University of Illinois campus and spent their days in all things basketball. They were there Wed-Sat. Eric and Matt were able to play with some of the Illini basketball players and Coach Weber. They had a great time - thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Staying in Bromley Hall.
