It's apple and pumpkin time!

Nancy and Eric went to Monticello for their traditional fall trip! One of the things we do is go to Curtis Orchard apple picking. The apples this year were not as great to pick as they had hail damage but we managed to find some good ones! The pumpkins were a beautiful orange.

These were the the oddest pumpkins I had ever seen - they had what looked like peanuts all over them!

2009 Ne-O-Tez Volleyball Tournament

The Camp Ne-O-Tez sand volleyball tournament is a family affair! It is a whole lot of hard work but a whole lot of fun and best of all Camp is the big winner! We raised $2661 this year! Carolyn and a couple of cuties from our Bible class - Camp shirts are the attire of the day!
We have two courts with non-stop action.
Dad does french fries and Uncle Mike makes funnel cakes - they are major hits. Jeff was their relief!
Carla worked in the concession stand but at one point she was a scorekeeper!

Kyle played for the last time as a student - next year he has to play as an adult!

JD is the grill master -several hundred hamburgers, hot dogs and brats. Colton was quality control and then took a turn making sno-cones!

Eric built an All-Ages team - didn't win but had a good time!

Thanks to everyone who contributed and a special thanks to all the Henley family who worked so hard to make the day a success!

When a Gas Station was a Service Station!

This is the service station that Cyril Henley owned in Mulkeytown, IL. Cyril is Marlin's father. Cyril is the cap on the far left. This picture was taken in March 1936. We think gas was about 20 cents a gallon. Grandpa Henley also had a station in West Frankfort, IL. Ask Marlin about driving the wreckers at age 13!

A Perfect Night . . .

Colton, Kyle, Eric and Aunt Nancy went to the Cardinals vs. Brewers game tonight. The weather was lovely and the Cardinals won 10 -3! This was before we left my house. I asked them to please let me get a picture - Grandma needs one to fill a spot in her scrapbook!
You can tell we get to the game early! We saw part of batting practice.
I loved this . .

The night before Matt Holliday knocked the A out in the sign during batting practice. Earlier this season I was there when Pujols knocked out the I !

Looks like the Cardinals will be playing in October!
