Camp Ne-O-Tez with Jake

Jake and his roommate Derek are training for a 330 miles bike ride (30 hours to ride) in April so they thought riding the hills around camp would be great training ground.  They rode as many as 180 miles a day.  They were able to ride their bikes from the caretaker house up to Big River Heights Road. We went down on Thursday night to visit with them and have dinner. We introduced Derek to Imo's - St. Louis style pizza and toasted ravioli.

Louisville Road Trip!

Lori and Nancy made a 3 day whirwind basketball trip from Monticello, IL - Louisville, Ky - Evansville IN.  McKendree had games on Thursday night and Sat afternoon (sad to say they lost both) but Friday Lori and I spent the day in Louisville. Toured the Louisville Slugger Musuem and Factory, checked out University of Louisville and Churchill Downs - home of the Kentucky Derby.  We did some shopping and lots of talking and laughing. The weather cooperated and we had a ball!

This baseball field is now on the field area where Marlin played Johnny Unitas in 1954! (and he won)

Matt and Lindsay live in Louisville and they joined us at the game with Eloise. Smitty and Cathy were also with us and we had a great time catching up.

Jake and Blubber Tire Race

Blubber Bike race photos...Jake and Derek got 2nd place...what a hoot! The NIU campus is closed on Monday and Tuesday of this week because of extreme cold. They got this race in before the cold front moved into the area.  Crazy guys!

Special Christmastime with Flo

Spending an evening celebrating Christmas with our lifelong friend Flo. We missed Eric as he was at work - having Anna with us was a bonus!
