City Sidewalks, Busy Sidewalks

Our first stop was Monticello, IL on Thursday to celebrate Lori and Rod's birthdays. We went out to dinner and then back to their house for cake and ice cream. Lori's b'day is today and Rod's is Monday! We were off to Chicago on Friday morning.

We decided to go to Long Grove, IL first. It is a quaint area of shops out near Buffalo Grove. The temp was 24 so it was a little chilly to be going from shop to shop. This is an area where we used to go when I lived in Chicagoland.

We then headed downtown to our hotel. Mom and Dad on Michigan Avenue - waiting to get a cab. It was very cold!
We went to Daley Plaza to the market - I bought a darling wooden snowman ornament.
Then on to Macy's on State Street - this is the old grand dame of shopping - theMarshall Fields Building. I don't think the folks of Chicago ever will get over it being Macy's.
One of the window scenes. We used to always go downtown STL to see the Christmas windows. These did not disappoint.
