Day 2- Heading West -Cheyenne and Laramie

We spent the day in Cheyenne and Laramie.  We did a trolley tour in Cheyenne and saw the city and learned lots and lots of history of Cheyenne - Wild Bill and Calamity Jane!

The large painted boots are all over Cheyenne

Note how beautiful blue the sky is!

Cheyenne is the capital of Wyoming.

Abraham Lincoln statue right of I-80  We stopped to see this and it is on a high elevation.  I-80 was below us and we saw a truck pulling a camper and a little smoke coming out of the hood.  In a matter of minute we saw this!

It was heartbreaking to watch the entire thing go up in flames.  The people were all out and you could hear the explosion of gas tanks  We were across the highway and up high and could feel the heat.  Can't imagine how the folks who were in this felt as they watched it burn.

Between Cheyenne and Laramie we saw so many wind farms.  This doesn't do justice to the scope.  The north side of highway was this and the south side more moutains.

Matt has a good friend, Tim E. who is going to school here - long way from Monticello!
